Re: Old short runway

Main one is cost. The sub grade would need to be strengthened which involves digging up the whole width and length of Charlie and laying new aggregates and reinforced steel concrete. There was talk about it being resurfaced and opened for the BE20s that Gamma operate but even then the figures being ...

Re: PIK

Making low-mid single figure £m profits each year is admirable given where PIK was a decade ago. Here’s the big BUT The minute they need to do any significant runway or taxiway resurfacing, or upgrading AGL or ILS systems that profit will be absolutely annihilated. Newark - 3048m runway - $81m in 20...

Re: Fatal crash at DCA

Re: Interesting Movements 2024

I think it’s pretty generous calling it a nose gear collapse on landing , as most of the media are. From the photos it looks more like it crashed nose first into the ground. Tea and biscuits, without the biscuits. :x

Re: PK to return to GLA?

Ban recently lifted by EASA but not yet by the CAA, hence the interest. Hundreds of pilots flying for them without licences, or the correct licences (which lead to the ban), historically terrible safety record, horrible airmanship from my first hand experience in the Middle East… I’d much prefer TK....

Re: Interesting Movements 2024

I know airlines are more likely to divert to an airport they operate to like you say but we can’t even get the diverts these days  this just sums up AGS Absolutely nothing to do with AGS. I’m sure the actual (correct) reason for the divert will be in the press soon enough and then perhaps you’...

GLA was fully prepared with Scottish Ambulance units & paramedics ready on site I'm afraid like United a few weeks ago the preferred diversion is any airport where the airline operates from I know airlines are more l...
