I think some of those names were there before, mainly a new gaffer, but you’re right, a great starting point.
The Glasgow Airport team is ready to Go For It at Routes Europe 2025 next week.

Definitely sounding a lot more positive, and hopefully got some meetings lined up in advance of going. OK, not expecting immediate results, but looking forward to them posting afterwards with a report of how they got on with establishing contacts.

The previous CEO gave a couple of very positive interviews at the outset, then produced not very much - but hopefully his replacement is more successful!

George has posted a pic of the GLA airport stand on his twitter:

Good to see it's a GLA stand rather than AGS.
"Scotlands No.1 city"
"Scotlands best placed city"
"Gateway to Scotland"
It looks clear that they think people don't recognise the catchment and demand to GLA or its better placement for access to much of the Highlands and Islands. Surely they also actually need to improve transport connections to the airport in order to succeed with this angle.

The thing is, "Scotland's No.1 City" for what exactly? That should have read " Scotland's Biggest and best City" and "Gateway To The Historic Highlands And Islands". If you're going to bang a drum, bang it loud I say. Imho of course.Iain wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 5:34 pm George has posted a pic of the GLA airport stand on his twitter:

I fully agree. What’s more worrying today is the announcement of two more coach connections to our major competitor starting next month.
Stagecoach Fife from StAndrew’s via Cupar and Kinross as well as XPlore Dundee (McGills) from Aberdeen. More cities being connected at reasonable costs and useful frequency.
GLA needs to step up and step up quickly otherwise yet another boat will have sailed and they’ll be left in the starting gates.
Have they encouraged/secured more units from TUI?
Re: The Glasgow Airport team is ready to Go For It at Routes Europe 2025 next week.
Can't emphasise this enough regarding ground transportation.
I arrived last night on KL945 at 23.00 by the time I got through passport control and out to a bus didn't get to city centre until 00.05 then had a 35 minute wait for a Citylink/Megabus back to Perth not getting in the door until just after 02.00.
The lack of vision on this by the airport IMO is staggering . Surely not to hard to engage with operators to extend some routes to airport or have them swing in by such as McGill's. I hope it's not the contract with first that's the problem to this but I assume it is.

Simple solution: build a bus stop out in the road by the HIE and let unregulated busses swing by on a quick in and out off the motorway and leave the regulated/contracted services in the foyer area.Skytrance wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 1:43 pm Can't emphasise this enough regarding ground transportation.

I like that idea would be a quick win if that could come to fruition.Clive wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 2:15 pmSimple solution: build a bus stop out in the road by the HIE and let unregulated busses swing by on a quick in and out off the motorway and leave the regulated/contracted services in the foyer area.Skytrance wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 1:43 pm Can't emphasise this enough regarding ground transportation.
