It seems there may have been a misunderstanding, perhaps lost in translation, I suspect "narrowbody" was meant to refer to a widebody aircraft such as A350 or 777, so second daily restored, just not the on the A380.
Yes, that's the only way I could make sense of that. Unless flydubai are thinking about starting a service?
Mr Jandu also revealed his priorities for new routes, as he highlighted loss of market share in recent years and hopes that the major investment can drive passenger growth.
He declared: “Maybe about 14% of the people who could be flying from here are making the trip to Edinburgh.”
Again, it's not that clear, but I would tend to read it as 14% of the W of Scotland market going to EDI. If you include PIK and do the sums this might point to a total market of 10m, so about 1.4m going to EDI. That seems a bit low though if you consider the Glasgow-EDI bus appears to have about 2m seats per annum.
Even if they managed to get 1m pax back, that's still about 7 extra (mostly international) 738 flights per day.
Excellent news. The new owners look very proactive so far and this is the long required level of investment. Not just a lick of paint but a facility fit for today's world. It just makes you realise how neglected things were under the previous bean counters and to be honest, just hearing the mere mention that they are actively talking to the likes of Ryanair or United is reassuring to me. Their investment is going to make any pitch much easier. For the first time in a long time I'm starting to think the airport might be on the right track. Also, curious as to whether they're subsidising the Flix service at all?
It also feels abundantly clear to me that Glasgow is far and away their main focus compared to Aberdeen or Southampton, and rightly so may I add.

14% of 15m is 2.1m. That sounds about right, and they will have all of the factual data to hand. As I said before, trying to guess numbers by making up demand figures on the bus from Buchanan St is for the birds. The airport know every detail to the nth point. The good news is they recognise it all now. They are now saying exactly everything we have all been saying for the last decade. That can only be good news.

To be fair, the figures we've estimated on this forum actually align quite well with the 14% quoted by Kam Jandu yesterday. As you say, it's great to see that the new owners acknowledge the leakage and are taking steps to address it. For me, that was one of the most encouraging takeaways from yesterday's press call.
Honestly, this man is music to my ears! He's acknowledging that Glasgow is Scotland’s biggest city, that its airport was once the country's busiest, and that far too many Glasgow passengers are now being lost to the second city’s airport. I’m looking forward to seeing the natural order restored!
Here's an interesting screengrab from the interview that appears to show some of the expansion plans. It would be great to get more detail on what these refer to.

Planned terminal expansion includes to the check in areas (T2 marked in orange on left and main area in green on right), new connection between T2 and main building (yellow) and airside retail (blue and orange on right) | AGS Airports
This all looks very positive. I do wonder if it's really required right now.. Timing is interesting, just a week after the closure claim from the Hootsmon.
I'd much rather have a clear focus on securing AF, QR, UA, AY etc

I think in every interview he's given he's mentioned CDG being underserved, so he's presumably pretty keen on AF at least.

That's encouraging. It's a real core route that the airport should have, the connectivity from CDG is incredible.
