Aberdeen's service is A220 and has been operating since May although on a very low frequency

Sad to hear but not unexpected. In fact some rumours even state TUI May pull out of Scotland completely.

Long gone are the days of four based Britannia aircraft!

Was speaking with a work colleague today who i never knew is based at EDI has worked for TUI for a number of years, they were pretty gutted. As i think we all would be if it was our own job.

That’s so sad. Another round of redundancies and another based operator loss to the airport and handling agent. I liked checking in a TUI flight and at the gates. My short summer season of 787 departures at weekends seems a lifetime ago.

One of the hosties used to fly on RN from Glasgow before her withdrawal from service and we were reminiscing on the ramp pre departure on WB also flying to PMI.

I shudder to think what GLA's figures will be like, much worse than EDI's I would think. Interesting to note that due to Covid or not, GLA seems to be losing the bucket and spade market flights to EDI as well as everything else. Four aircraft en route to Scotland as I type, all four are FR from leisure destinations, all heading for EDI. We need to deal FR in quickly at GLA and end the charade that is PIK once and for all otherwise I fear for the future.

Add to thatJet2 to Santorini and Skiathos both EDI departures. And don’t look to TUI for any growth. That EDI unitwas transferred to NCL giving them four based plus a part week 787.

Virgin Atlantic to announce new flights from EDI today?

Yes!
Barbados 2 x weekly A330 from 5th Dec
Orlando 2 x weekly A330 from April 2022

Not clear if this replaces GLA yet
