I've mentioned this before, but I know of a group last year that were booked GLA-FRA-SEA-Monatana that were rerouted GLA-DXB-SEA-Montana when their flight was cancelled.

believe the leakage to Glasgow East surpasses 3 million passengers per year, and rising.

Re above. This has been getting on my winter mitts for ages.
Lets assume its not 3 m. Lets go for 2 m.
Lets say PIK is worth 300 k pa to GLA
Thats 2.3 m pax pa .
Right. Here's what Id do next Monday.
E mail
(a) Easy Jet
(b) Jet 2
(c) Wizz
(d) Do not send e mail to Ryanair.... Yet
" Dear Sirs, GLA is embarking on a route expansion plan. Blah blah blah. The following routes have historical evidence of GLA px departing and arriving. Please find enclosed supporting evidence based on postcodes. Within the next 90 days we will be considering all carriers who wish to submit proposals for route commencement. We look forward to your response"
(e) E mail to Emirates. " Dear Sirs, we are opening a tender process for new ME routes. You have 90 days to submit proposal blah blah blah.

Words and phrasing as appropriate.

90 days later..
(f) Dear Michael, after lengthy negotiations, we have decided to invest £x in route development at GLA.
These new routes commence in 3 months etc.
If you wish to respond to these exciting developments, please do so as your earliest convenience.
If we fail to hear from you within this time, any subsidies afforded to you will expire at the end of current contract.

Too much fannying about previously. Waiting for something to happen. Take proactive approach.
Get Glasgow to 10 million. Get new routes. Stop waiting for a nice man to give you good news. Be strong. Take no shit. Boot people in the undercarriage.
Waiting for the phone to ring is not a business strategy.

The wording on this thread is only meant to give an overview, you get the gist of my point.

Haven’t done one of these for a while so here’s a wee to do list for the new owners to get started with, with whatever kind of deal it takes to get some of them to bite with between 2-7 flights a week, seasonal with some of the hot spots. Even half of them would be a miracle:

Turkish IST

Qatar Airways DOH

Aegean ATH

Air France CDG

Aer Lingus UK JFK, MCO

Wizz Air OTP, GDN, WAW, KWI, PRG, BER, FCO, MAD

easyJet CPH, LIN/MXP, GVA year round, MUC, MAD, LIS

Ryanair BCN, BCA, BFS, BGO, BER, OTP, BUD, CRL year round, CPH, ORK, FAO, FUE, GDN, LPA, ACE, LIS, STN, MAD, OPO, PRG, RIX, CIA, SOF, TFS, VIE, WAW, IBZ, PSA, PMI

Turkish IST - agree, also add PC to SAW.

Qatar Airways DOH - agree

Aegean ATH - agree, also one for U2.

Air France CDG - agree

Aer Lingus UK JFK, MCO - agree, scope for LAS too. Ditto VS/DL. Ditto Norse.

Wizz Air OTP, GDN, WAW, KWI, PRG, BER, FCO, MAD - KWI seems left field and AFAIK, Wizz don't currently fly there. IIRC your sister lives there, so I guess purely selfish reasons for that one to appear on your list. Have a look at LTN's WizzAir destinations, then take your pick of those that could work here.

easyJet CPH, LIN/MXP, GVA year round, MUC, MAD, LIS - agree, add ATH to the mix too.

Ryanair BCN, BCA, BFS, BGO, BER, OTP, BUD, CRL year round, CPH, ORK, FAO, FUE, GDN, LPA, ACE, LIS, STN, MAD, OPO, PRG, RIX, CIA, SOF, TFS, VIE, WAW, IBZ, PSA, PMI - anywhere basically. FR made PLQ work (Palanga) from GLA last time, FFS!
