That's encouraging. It's a real core route that the airport should have, the connectivity from CDG is incredible.
Not sure if you’ve had a chance to watch the interview with Kam Jandu that Iain posted further up the thread – well worth a watch if you haven’t. He not only highlights that Paris is undercapacity but also specifically mentions onward connectivity from Paris, so it’s pretty clear that Air France is a top target.

I'd much rather have a clear focus on securing AF, QR, UA, AY etc
I think in every interview he's given he's mentioned CDG being underserved, so he's presumably pretty keen on AF at least.

I've flown to CDG many many times (although admittedly never as a connecting pax) and tbh I've always felt it's a pretty bad and unappealing airport. I guess it must've improved in the last few years?

I've been quite a bit but also not as a connecting pax.

I like it, it's big open and relatively modern. Everything that AMS isn't.

Hopefully we'll be able to connect through it shortly to find out for ourselves what it's like.

I connected thru CDG (via AMS) to HKG with AF last year. Didn’t get to see much of the main long haul terminal as inbound flight from AMS was delayed and they were already boarding when we landed - had to do a mad sprint between terminals, well under min connect time to make the flight, but the long haul terminal did look bright and modern.

The other terminal on the way back for domestic and European flights was busy. Just annoying after a near 12hr flight to sit about for 4 hrs to then go to AMS to then get a flight to GLA.

I found AF themselves to be good.

As for the comment about narrow bodies, I think there is probably confusion on this between the 2nd daily Emirates and the likes of United who are bringing A321LR and XLR in over next few years. EK however may be waiting for more

Honestly, this man is music to my ears! He's acknowledging that Glasgow is Scotland’s biggest city, that its airport was once the country's busiest, and that far too many Glasgow passengers are now being lost to the second city’s airport. I’m looking forward to seeing the natural order restored!

Here's an interesting screengrab from the interview that appears to show some of the expansion plans. It would be great to get more detail on what these refer to.

Planned terminal expansion includes to the check in areas (T2 marked in orange on left and main area in green on right), new connection between T2 and main building (yellow) and airside retail (blue and orange on right) | AGS Airports
See the blue and orange on the right - expansion of baggage reclaim and immigration would also be helpful here.

Id have to agree. Baggage claim is archaic.

The section between international baggage claim and the exit doors into arrivals containing customs equipment is a disgrace. Like slipping through a back storage room in a warehouse.

Looking forward to seeing the improvements and new airlines and services.

I’ll be sampling GLA again next Tuesday.

It's wonderful to see some green shoots appearing at this stage. Finally a management team that realise the obvious issues. Let's hope they act quickly and get GLA performing as it should be!

And then they increase parking charges . . . now £6 for the 15 minutes drop-off
