It's an impressive line-up, but a reflection of the current state of the industry. Rough count, I reckon 16 parked from stand 34 round to 40.

Not sure the exact number, but I heard the other day it would be more than 30, not including the A321’s that are here and due to go to Madrid for longer term storage.

Makes sense for GLA to try and get as much income as possible. They'll probably only need to use 6 or 7 gates max this winter at any one time

I saw that mentioned on Flyertalk. It may be that BA are going to scrap the A319's that are due for retirement in the next year or so early.

As for where they would be scrapped, probably one of the usual places - St Athan, Kemble, Newquay, Ciudad de Real. However they are all pretty much at capacity at the moment.

If the A319 retro jet is to be retired, I would like to see either the transport museum or the museum of flight in Edinburgh putting in a bid for it. Transport museum would be good.

There are currently 16 BA Airbuses parked between stands 34 and 37. More aircraft currently enroute from LHR.

In addition A321 MEDJ is on stand 38 and is the only long term resident still present on this side of the airfield.

G-EUXG is off to Madrid today.
