Wizz Air ceasing EDI-Gdansk.

Interesting to note that Wizz flew to 7 destinations from GLA when they decided to move east down the M8. Since moving to EDI their network has crumbled with just two routes remaining. Hopefully Andy Cliffe and his new team can entice Wizz Air back to GLA. Without knowing the numbers it does feel like Andy Cliffe has landed more new routes in just a few months than Derek Provan managed in his entire tenure.

Indeed. A Wizz UK base would do nicely if Ryanair are playing silly beggars. We can take it 100% that GLA bosses will be working on Wizz. If that ever happens I bet Ryanair would be in the door the very next day.

Wizz seem to be rather chaotic . Starting and dropping routes constantly .. they seem to open and close bases . Think FR would get a better option , albeit they closed there GLA base but think there was external factors involved such as air passenger tax issues with Holyrood etc

Ryanair would definitely be the better option if it was either or. Indeed for any airline pair, if it was either or, Ryanair would be the best solution for growth, dots on maps, bums on seats, etc.

Further TUI cuts at EDI seem to have appeared on the flight timetable:

VRN: Flights cut and transferred to GLA
CUN: On sale for this summer then cut for S24
IBZ: On sale for this summer then cut for S24
MLB: On sale for this summer then cut for S24
MAH: On sale for this summer then cut for S24
TFS: Only on sale for Jan/Feb 24

All good then. 👍

Edinburgh- TUI S24

TUI dropping both long haul routes from EDI. Orlando Melbourne and Cancun. Not much of a loss given their very limited schedules from the airport.

Good news. TUI dropping all long haul from EDI and in doing so GLA regains it's position as the only airport in Scotland with direct flights to Mexico and the home of TUI long haul. Hopefully the capacity cut from EDI will be redeployed at GLA.

Tui obviously make more wonga at GLA vs EDI , which makes VS decision even more head scratching if you think of its more suited to GLA pax with the outgoing element .

Yes, that's very true - but unless and until GLA get somebody like EI UK or Norse in to operate GLA-MCO, VS probably won't really feel much effect from that decision.
